Analysts Cowan & Company have updated their expectations on Call of Duty: Black Ops to include early buzz and pre-orders generated for the title. The firm initially felt the title would do 29% less revenue than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but this has now been increased so that they expect it to loose only 17 per cent. This would in turn mean the game would sell an astounding 10.7 million units in its first year in the U.S. alone.

On the other hand, the same analyst warn that their estimates for Blur were to high. The title is selling well below expectations and they now feel it won't reach a million units sold worldwide in its first year. Cowan & Company blame "an exceptionally ill-timed" release one week after Disney's Split/Second: Velocity as one of the reasons for this.
