Originally set for an August release, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is the follow up to 2010's surprise hit. Recently the original release date was pushed back to October, but it seems that is not long enough for City Interactive, and a release date of January 15, 2013 has now be released.
Despite impressive sales figures, the first game was universally panned by critics, and City Interactive will be hoping the extra time will allow them to improve the game significantly as they seek to establish the franchise as "the leading sniper game."
Namco Bandai's Lee Kirton spoke to Videogamer and confirmed the delay: "It's key we all want this title to be fantastic in the genre and the leading sniper game for sure. The engine is fantastic and the level of polish is also key to the title's success."
