Harvey Smith, the co-creative director working on Dishonored, has revealed some interesting influences that have informed level design on the hugely anticipated title.

Talking with fans on Reddit (and spotted by Beef Jack), Smith explained that Thief II mission Life of the Party was a major inspiration for the team.

"If you like Life of the Party in Thief II, you will like the Dishonored missions in terms of depth, combination, etc. Our missions follow the model of games like Thief or Deus Ex. It's part of our core values."

"Another thing Raf [Colantonio, co-designer on Dishonored] and I (and our leads) pushed for was breaking the patterns, making sure that each mission has its own character."

REVIEW. Written by Bengt Lemne

"Taken as a whole this is something rare: DLC that adds and builds on the experience in the main game, while still providing a storyline that works on its own."
