We sat down with Gearbox Software's Brian Martel and Randy Pitchford, to dive deeper into the story, RPG elements, and development of Borderlands 2.

You can watch the full interview below, but here's a few choice snippets:

On growing the sequel:

"That's just one playthrough. When we started B2 we were like, you know, we'll plan to make it about the same size, and we got kinda carried away. Things got a little out of hand. The budget doubled, the team size tripled. And we're really good at making Borderlands, unlike with Borderlands 1 where we had to figure everything out. So the momentum just created a lot of value"

On creating a $500 dollar game:

"We want the game to kinda be a hobby and be worthy of being a hobby. My biggest wish is that when people put their 60 dollars down or whatever to get B2, that when they realise the value that they're getting out of as they're playing the game over time, they're like "dude, this is more value than the last 500 dollars I spent on video games, and I feel really good about that."

REVIEW. Written by Gillen McAllister

"It's rare for drudgery to set in. And for a game of this size and style, what's even more surprising is that the word 'grind' never enters the lexicon."
