It's official. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, the long rumoured and semi-confirmed sequel to Assassin's Creed II has been announced by Ubisoft. Once again we will play as Ezio in a single player campaign that spans approximately 15 hours.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is set in Rome during the 15th century, a bustling metropolis that you will get to shape as you climb the social ladder and perform missions for various factions.

Characters such as Leonardo da Vinci, Nicola Machiavelli and Caterina Sforza will make a return and there will be lots of new weapons and equipment such as poison darts, parachutes, and fire arms.

Perhaps the biggest piece of news is the multiplayer component that is developed by Ubisoft Annecy (responsible for multiplayer in Splinter Cell: Conviction). There will be several playable classes. Expect to hear more at E3.
