Ubisoft has postponed the start of the open beta for Rainbow Six: Siege, which was due to have already started. The closed beta test is currently ongoing, but won't be opened up until certain technical issues can be resolved.
In a lengthy forum post the company has moved to reassure fans that they don't expect the technical problems that are currently holding up the beta to affect the game's imminent launch (it's hitting PC, PS4 and Xbox One on December 1).
"This Open Beta will ensure the cleanest launch possible," an Ubisoft rep wrote. "Keep in mind that this beta is intended for this exact reason: find problems and troubleshoot them to ensure the most stable launch possible."
An update is expected at some point this afternoon as Ubisoft looks to the get open beta up and running. Maintenance is ongoing, and they reckon they've identified the root issue.
"We are confident the game will work as intended since the known issue will be fixed soon. Therefore the launch will not be impacted by this issue."
