Fan favourite multiplayer map Nuketown is being reimagined for the near-future setting of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The original map, described as "our most popular" in an ad, is set in an American nuclear test village. It features a claustrophobic urban environment, and comes with a distinctive retro 1950's styling.

Nuketown 2025 was revealed by a post on IGN, with the captured image showing an in-store ad from Irish retailer Xtravision.

The advert claims that Nuketown 2025 will be "Driving Pre-Orders... And Day 1", which suggests that the map will be included as some kind of pre-order exclusive, and/or as bonus content for a Limited Edition.

Platform specific details are yet to be released, but Microsoft recently revealed that Black Ops 2 content would be available on Xbox 360 first. Playstation 3 owners will have to wait with baited breath to see if that announcement applies to Nuketown 2025, but given the fact that the map is a pre-order bonus, there's a chance that the exclusivity deal may not apply.

REVIEW. Written by Mathias Holmberg

"It's made up of some of the most boring missions in the history of the franchise...at times this feels like a pastiche - a parody."
