Edge Online reports that police were called to a marketing stunt for Splinter Cell: Conviction, where a man tried to spread news of the game by waving a fake gun around. According to The New Zealand Herald, the police realized what was going on before opening fire.

"It was just marketing gone wrong," said a representative for Ubisoft's marketing firm Monaco Corporation. I guess we can all agree on that.
