Lego Batman to appear in cinemas

It's tenuous link time. But we all know we love Lego.

Lego Batman and Superman, who recently starred in chart-topping Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, will be reappearing together in a Lego movie due out in cinemas early next year.

Movie site Variety (as reported by Newsarama), has picked up the appearance in 2014's Lego: The Piece of Resistance by way of discussion over the duo's voice actors. Arrested Development's Will Arnett has been cast as the blocky Dark Knight, while 21 Jump Street's Channing Tatum is being courted as the Man of Steel.

The two will appear as part of the animated film's story that sees Lego characters join together to fight against an evil tyrant.

The question is whether the other franchises turned Lego we've seen on the gaming scene over the last few years will put in cameos as well.
