Bioware has today released the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut on the Xbox Live Marketplace, and on PC. Although European PS3 gamers will have to wait until July 4 to get the download (for some inexplicable reason).
The download for Xbox 360 comes in at 1.85GB, and the official spiel reads: "An expanded ending for Mass Effect 3. Additional scenes and an extended epilogue reveal the impact of Shepard's choices on the future of the galaxy."
The revised ending has come in the wake of fans lamenting the finale provided when the game first shipped. A vocal part of the community voiced their disappointment regarding the conclusion to Bioware's sci-fi epic.
The developer responded with a promise to revisit the endgame content, and this is it, and there's nearly 2GBs of it. Here are Bioware's instructions on how to access the new content (warning - spoilers): "After completing Mass Effect 3, a 'Legend' save is created prior to assaulting the Cerberus Base."
"To experience the Extended Cut DLC, load this save game and play through to the end of the game. The Extended Cut endings will differ depending on choices made throughout the Mass Effect series, so multiple playthroughs with a variety of different decisions will be required to experience the variety of possibilities offered by the new content."
