Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have today announced that actor Camilla Luddington (pictured below) is to provide the voice for one of gaming's most icon characters, Lara Croft.

The new Tomb Raider game isn't due out until March 5, 2013, giving Luddington plenty of time to immerse herself in the role. Luddington, an English-born actor who made a name for herself in Californication and True Blood, is set to attend Nerd HQ and Comic-Con with the dev team as they talk about the game and its backstory with fans.

Darrell Gallagher, head of studio at Crystal Dynamics, said: "This has been one of the most important jobs for us to get right. This Tomb Raider game is very different to any other and we are demanding far more from the voice and performance acting than ever before as we take the franchise in a new direction."
