The lack of a Final Fantasy VII remake is due to its creator not managing to better it since, says the company's CEO.
That's the thinking by Square-Enix CEO Yoichi Wada, who was discussing the title during the firm's shareholder meeting. The metting was reported and translated by Andriasang, who stated Wada believed that the company would have to make a superior Final Fantasy to the 1997 PSOne release before a remake could be considered.
That, according to the report, was yet to happen, with Wada emphasising that the current Final Fantasy games weren't matching their 90s predecessor.
