343 Industries has likened the extended roll out of Halo 4's Spartan Ops, the downloadable episodic campaign, to that of a full-scale television series.

Speaking to GRTV at Microsoft's E3 booth, 343 Lead Designer Chris Haluke outlined the plan for the multiplayer campaign.

"Each week you'll get a new episode with five new missions...we're trying to keep them as varied as possible, so each one feels different," he explained, describing how the different elements that made the Halo experience would be emphasised in different missions. "We're treating it as a TV series."

The four-player multiplayer campaign will stand separate to Halo 4's Master Chief campaign, set "six months after the incidents of the main campaign," Haluke says. "We're bringing the fans two main campaigns."

Spartan Ops is 343's multiplayer facet of Halo 4, following the Spartan IVs from the downed UNSC Infinity through Wargames (the new story-given name for competitive multiplayer) and Spartan Ops (story-driven multiplayer campaign).

Haluke discusses that, rebuilding the Covenant and balancing the old and new in the GRTV interview that you can see right here.
