There's already a whopping thirty games coming in Rare Replay, which will be released exclusively on Xbox One next Tuesday. However, more is always better, right, and it seems like we might actually get just that.
Rare's James Thomas said during a Twitch livestream that it was a challenge to boil down Rare's rich heritage to a measly thirty games and that some favourites were left out in the cold. This doesn't mean we won't get to see those games, because Thomas added:
"There is a wealth of titles that we could dip into; a huge heritage beyond the thirty that we chose. But that's what made choosing the thirty so hard in the first place. We had to put aside [our own personal] preferences. We hope we've done [that], but you never know, there could be space for more."
A few fairly well-known titles are missing from the collection, including Anticipation, Captain Skyhawk, Dragon Skulle, Wizards & Warriors, Sabre Wulf and It's Mr. Pants. Then of course there's a whole load of licensed games like A Nightmare on Elm Street, Battletoads & Double Dragon, GoldenEye 007, Mickey's Speedway USA, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and Donkey Kong Country.
We spoke to Rare's Craig Duncan during E3 about the collection, and here's what he had to say about Rare Replay and choosing the games that make up the list of thirty.
