Ubisoft are reportedly in talks with Paramount Pictures to bring stealth agent Sam Fisher to movie screens in a deal to create a cinematic adaptation of the Splinter Cell series.

That's according to Deadline (via Empire Magazine) who believes that while talks are still ongoing, the movie studio is the forerunner for landing the franchise.

It's not the first Ubisoft franchise to be linked to the silver screen: the publisher's movie production arm thrashed out a deal with Sony last year for an Assassin's Creed film, while another parkour icon, Prince of Persia, hit cinemas in 2010 with Sands of Time.

Hopefully any of the new projects prove better than Uwe Boll's live action take on Far Cry back in 2008.
