With our full Gamelab interview with 2015 Honor Award Shinji Mikami now available in video form (see below), some new/old concepts and ideas from the "father of survival horror" have arisen.

After admitting he's experimenting with random fear elements, that he's interested in making a first-person survival horror, Mikami-san was happy to share with GRTV his conceptual ideas relating to a Dino Crisis-like game. Here's his full answer after being asked about the new Dino-trend with Jurassic World and Ark: Survival Evolved, and his recollections regarding the PSOne classic he directed for Capcom in 1999:

"I don't know if now is a right time to make a game based on dinosaurs, but I had this idea maybe ten years ago that had dinosaurs, it was named Dino Arrive, and the story is that you, as a character, you're trying to find your lost lover, but you have to go into the past to find her. And you're sent to this unknown world, and it's a land that you've seen for the first time, and that's where creatures like perhaps dinosaurs appear and you have to survive; use whatever means and tactics to survive and try to find your lover."

Would you travel back in time and face dinosaurs to save your other half?
We'd certainly've liked to have seen this concept come to life on screen...
