After an excellent start earlier this month - one that has allowed the company to sell 35% of its first batch of stock in just a few days - Valve has announced that the first wave of Steam Machines and accessories that were available for Pre-order are officially sold out.

In fact, if you try to access the Steam Controller and Steam Link pages, there's a new release date set for November 10 (and not on October 16 - when the first of Valve's devices will actually become available). Anyway, you can still pre-order the controller and the streaming device, but they will now only be available to users during the second round.

Regarding the Steam Machines, Ars Technica reports that Alienware's Steam Machines are also sold out (you can now pre-order them ahead of their November 10 release), while Syber's offerings seem to be available to pre-order for October 16, although these figures are drawn from Syber's official website and not from the official page on Steam.

In short, it seems there's great interest and excitement building around the Steam Machines and the new hardware being developed by Valve. That said, it remains unclear how many actual units have been sold, in part because Gabe Newell's company hasn't released any official data at the moment. We're certainly very curious and would like to find out.
