With the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup starting next week, EA couldn't have better timing for the announcement of what is, without a doubt, one of the biggest new features in FIFA franchise history: FIFA 16 is now including women national teams.
Catch it in the announcement trailer below:
EA's official FIFA page has some details: there'll be 12 women's teams (and you can only match women's teams against each other) and you can compete in Match Day, an Offline Tournament, and Online Friendly Matches. The teams are Germany, USA, France, Sweden, England, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Spain, China, Italy, Mexico.
EA Canada has used motion capture sessions with four players from the
United States Women's National Team to recreate player movement, with facial scanning unit capturing player facial features.
The game will release on PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 4 & Playstation 3. Expect more info on FIFA 16 in the coming weeks leading up to E3.
