The exact details regarding this story are still unknown, but it sounds curious nevertheless. According to his LinkedIn profile (via Dualshockers), environment artist David Ballard had been working at Ubisoft for a little while, but now he has returned to his former employer, Naughty Dog.

Ballard, a veteran artist on the Uncharted series, who worked on the second, third and also upcoming fourth entries since 2009 (plus The Last of Us), left the Santa Monica-based office to join Ubisoft San Francisco as recently as September of last year, but now, for some reason, he's back at Naughty Dog, working once again on environment art and multiplayer level design.

Was this his own decision? What might be the reason? Does Naughty Dog need more manpower and seniority for the final stage of development for A Thief's End? We'll probably never now, but his quick round-trip would perhaps make for a really interesting story about the development scene in California.
