96 million Final Fantasy shipped

The whole series, not only Final Fantasy XIII

According to Andriasang, Square Enix have stated that they now have shipped more than 96 million Final Fantasy games around the world, where Final Fantasy XIII stands for 5 million of those games. 2 million of those copies went to Japan, the other 3 million went to the West. Remember that we're talking shipped copies, not sold, but it should at least give us some form of idea about how well the game is doing.

96 million copies of Final Fantasy games? That's a LOT of Chocobos.
