Melbourne-based Space Dust Studios have launched a Kickstarter for their sci-fi combat racer, Space Dust Racers. It's a game filled with cute-looking racers that take to the track sporting huge guns, and it's being made by a studio with credits that include series like Dead Space, Need for Speed, and Battlefield. They've set themselves a target of $128,000 Australian dollars.

One interesting feature mentioned in the Kickstarter is the tech they have running on PC that allows up to sixteen players to squeeze into one local game via a mixture of input devices including smartphones and tablets (they also want to bring the tech to console - Xbox One and PS4 - although that involves getting approval). On top of what sounds like chaotic local multiplayer, there's online too (and a single-player campaign if you'd prefer). For more details on the modes that'll feature in the game, or to back the project that's due in early 2016, head here.
