Do you know what Project Mercury really is? No, neither do we - but hopefully EA do, since they've agreed to publish it. Project Mercury is a roleplaying game from 38 Studios, which is set in the so-called Copernicus universe created by famed fantasy author R.A. Salvatore. The same universe that is supposed to be the setting for the MMO that 38 Studios are also working on.

Project Mercury is planned for PS3, 360 and PC and will probably be a kind of test to see if the studio is ready for the big MMO-league. Or a way to get more money for development, which rumors said have fallen on hard times lately. Either way, considering comic book artist Todd McFarlane is the art director on both Project Mercury and Copernicus we're looking forward to seeing what it actually is in the near future.

We also have an interview with R.A. Salvatore booked for GDC, so there's something to look forward to!
