Ubisoft DRM servers crash
Makes Assassin's Creed 2 unplayable
When Ubisoft revealed their new DRM protection system, which forced the player to have a constant connection to the Internet in order to keep playing their games, they promised that the system was more or less bullet proof; the servers would be up, nobody would notice the protection scheme, etcetera. It did not take long though before the DRM servers buckled, and during the weekend they crashed.
A community manager on the Ubisoft forums, trying to tackle the angry players that couldn't play Assassin's Creed II or Silent Hunter V, blamed the problems on "exceptional demand" and also said that "clearly the extended downtime and lengthy login issues are unacceptable, particularly as I've been told these servers are constantly monitored."
Ooops, Ubisoft. Oooops.

And did this stop the pirates? Not at all. I love how they place the importance of DRM above their paying customers.. They actually place the pirates above their paying customers.
