We caught up with Jay Tholen who is the developer of an upcoming point-and-click adventure about a somewhat creepy, hug craving and potentially misunderstood clown.

Something that truly stands out with Dropsy is its art style: "I put a lot of effort into it," says Jay Tholen. "That's like all I do all day long now is that. And I've gotta say I like doing music better, but it's so rewarding coming somewhere like [PAX East] and just see people enjoy it. It makes it worth it. So eventhough it's really time consuming and I should probably exercise more and not sit in that chair all day I'm cool with it."

"We really wanted to make the game have zero text in it, because I was just thinking...," says Jay Tholen of the decision to not include any text in the game. "My girlfriend is German and when I went over there it surprised me how few games that I really like dubbing or German language support. And German is a common language. So if that's not supported then there's got to be tons of other languages and people just can't enjoy games because of that barrier. So I wanted to make a really universal, like anyone, anywhere, could get a whole story out of this without having to read anything and kids could play it too. I mean they may be a little creeped out by it, but kids could play it."

Dropsy is targeted for release this summer.
