Spielberg will direct Ready Player One

The science fiction novel Ready Player One, written by Ernest Cline, was published back in 2011, and got several awards. We've been waiting for the film adaptation ever since Warner Bros bought the rights, and now they've found a director. Or should we say the director since it's none other than Steven Spielberg.

This is according to Deadline, who also writes that this is Spielberg's first film with Warner Bros in 14 years (the last was A.I. Artificial Intelligence in 2001).

The book is set in 2044, as character Wade Watts enters an 'unbeatable' VR title.
