Multiple evidence seem to suggest that Konami are rebranding products and studios in what appears to be preparation for an exit of Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima. The Kojima Production Los Angeles studio website now redirects to a general MGS portal and the job listings for the LA studio now refers to Konami Los Angeles Studios (as opposed to Kojima Productions Los Angeles). It also appears the "A Hideo Kojima Game" subtitles have been removed from official websites.

The official Kojima Productions Twitter asks its followers to move to an official MGS feed for future updates.

Then there's a new listing of executive appointments where Hideo Kojima's name doesn't appear. However, this may mean absolutely nothing as it doesn't include the category "content officers".

Even in spite of that there's mounting evidence that Konami are preparing for a possible exit. But the company reached out to Videogamer to refute the rumours.

"Konami Digital Entertainment, including Mr. Kojima, will continue to develop and support Metal Gear products. Please look forward to future announcements."

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, that Hideo Kojima says will close the narrative of the series is due out on September 1.
