In an interview with Nikkei Trendy (via Gematsu), the President of Square Enix, Yosuke Matsuda, has teased some interesting news coming from his company for fiscal year 2015, including a "little surprise" for all JRPG fans.

"For fiscal 2015, I think we have a considerable amount of high-end games both inside and outside the country. Starting with Final Fantasy XV, we'll be putting out news for Japanese RPGs."

Then Matsuda said: "I think we'll have a little surprise, too, a JRPG for home game machine(s)."

It seems Square Enix is "a box of surprises", according to Matsuda, and what we can expect is a great year for all those who love JRPGs. But what is the surprise Matsuda is talking of? As a "little surprise" (his words), we think it could be a new remastered of some games beloved by fans. Then again who would be surprised by a remaster at this point in time?

The next appointment with Square Enix is obviously the highly anticipated Final Fantasy XV, whose demo (Episode Duscae - you can read our impressions here) is included in remastered PSP title Final Fantasy Type 0 HD, available on PS4 and Xbox One in just two days time.

REVIEW. Written by Jonas Mäki

"It feels like the series should feel, but adapted for a modern audience, and we're so glad that Tabata pulled this massive project together in the way that he did."
