State of Decay was full of hidden genitalia

Contractors inserted low-res penises into the background.

It's the first penis related headline we've ever written, and the reason we're writing it is because contractors working for Undead Labs on State of Decay did something they really shouldn't have (but we're glad they did).

"Some of our contractors worked a ridiculous amount of genitalia into the background," Undead Labs senior designer Geoffrey Card told XBLA Fans during PAX East.

The penises were initially unseen because they were so low-res in the Xbox 360 edition of the game that they managed to sneak their way in past quality control. Of course they've since been removed so you can't marvel at their phallic wonder for yourselves, but it's an entertaining story nevertheless. That is, unless you're Microsoft:

"Undead Labs was not aware of the textures in question until they began the process of exporting textures for State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition, and they are not visible in the original edition of State of Decay," a company rep told GameInformer, presumably with a grimace on their face.

"Undead Labs is no longer working with the contractor in question, and this material will not be present in State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition."

So that's the end of the brief appearance of the one-eyed trouser snake in State of Decay, which is currently being remastered ahead of its re-release on Xbox One in May.
