Turkey's Family and Social Policies Ministry is calling for their Government to ban Minecraft, suggesting that the game is too violent and that it can lead to social isolation.
Apparently the Children Services General Directorate has begun the legal process required to ban the game, and if a court of law agrees with their assessment, it will be removed from sale in the country.
"Although the game can be seen as encouraging creativity in children by letting them build houses, farmlands and bridges, mobs [hostile creatures] must be killed in order to protect these structures. In short, the game is based on violence," it says in the Ministry's report (according to Turkish site Habertürk).
As the same site pointed out, if Turkey does ban Minecraft, it will be the first country to do so.
