Heavy Rain film optioned in 2006

New Line Production got in early

HQ

New Line Productions (perhaps best known for the Lord of the Rings trilogy) optioned rights to make a a movie out of Heavy Rain just one week after the game was announced back in 2006. The rights were renewed in 2007, but just because a film has been optioned it doesn't mean there will be one. Most likely any possible Heavy Rain film depends on how popular Quantic Dream's game gets.
