EA and DICE have announced plans to release a total of four multiplayer maps for free download (as long as you have redeem code, i.e. haven't bought the game used). The first two available at launch, Laguna Alta (Conquest mode) and Nelson Bay (Rush mode), will take the total count of multiplayer maps up to 10. A further two maps, Arica Harbor (Conquest mode) and Laguna Presa (Rush mode), will be released at a later date.

This is the latest chapter of EA's "Project Ten Dollar", where the idea is to sway people into buying a new copy rather than a used one with the incentive of free DLC. However, in this case it even says in the press release "Available in the box, the content packs are unlocked by simply inputting a VIP code", so perhaps we should not call it DLC.

Check out the trailer below detailing the "DLC". Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be released in North America on March 2, and March 5 in Europe.
