Has old-gen Mad Max been canceled?

Avalanche denies it, but suspicious retailer activity confuses the matter.

It seems like Avalanche Studios might have decided to cancel the planned PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Mad Max. Gamestop is reportedly refunding those who pre-ordered the game on those formats and has also removed them from their homepage.

Studio co-founder Christofer Sundberg was asked about this on Twitter but denied that they would have canceled the game for the older consoles. These kind of things are however often denied until it's officially announced and Gamestop's actions indicate that there still might be something to this story. We'll keep you updated once we find out more.
