Nielsen has conducted a survey on why American consumers have bought either PlayStation 4, Wii U or Xbox One, and what their console history is.
It turns out 9 out of 10 owners of these consoles have owned at least one console from a previous generation, and that 59% of those who has a PlayStation 4 used to have an Xbox 360. Only 43% of the Xbox One owners used to have a PlayStation 3.
The main reasons to buy each console varies a lot, with Playstation owners praising resolution above everything, while Xbox One players stick with the brand. Wii U owners on the other hand couldn't care less about these things and just want fun games.
