Following on from the inadvertent reveal of Bungie's next game, Destiny, more revelations surrounding Activision are beginning to surface in the court battle between the publishing giant and two former employees.

This time documents presented in court reveal details of events past, specifically the revelation that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was nearly handed over to Treyarch for completion following a series of disagreements between Activision and former Infinity Ward heads Jason West and Vince Zampella.

An internal email sent by Dave Stohl to Mike Griffith points to uncertainty regarding the future of Modern Warfare 2, with Stohl writing: "We should also discuss what the plan B is going to look like. Steve and I going out there is one option, but there could still be a ton of risk getting the project (Modern Warfare 2) done depending on how the team takes it".

He then added: "Treyarch taking it over now is also an option but scary given the tight timeline. It would probably have to be a combination of the two."

The email mentions a proposal that Activision wanted West and Zampella to consider "unemotionally", although no further details were present.
