Xcom: Enemy Unknown

XCOM gets release date

Enemy Unknown coming in October.

2K Games has today announced that the Firaxis reboot of classic IP XCOM is set for release in Europe on October 12, 2012 (The North American launch will be October 9).

XCOM: Enemy Unknown will be available on a trio of platforms, with versions expected on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

The reboot, much like the original PC classic from 1993, puts players into battle with alien invaders. Like the original, it will be tactical affair that punishes sloppy mistakes.

PC owners get a nod, their special edition will include a variety of XCOM related goodies and pre-orders will be treated to the 'Elite Soldier Pack' (which includes a character modelled on one of the original soldiers).
