Anthony Burch, the writer of Borderlands 2, has announced his departure from studio Gearbox Software. It was confirmed on Twitter that he left the studio to work on a new Hulu series from Freddie Wong's RocketJump, with eight planned episodes elaborating on the success of Wong's short films.

Burch said: "Thank you to everyone who was sweet and supportive of the stuff I helped contribute to at Gearbox, you made my life better".

This key departure comes in the same week that Gearbox started ramping up recruitment for Borderlands 3. Now it looks like they'll need to find a new lead writer to work alongside the "artists, designers, coders, producers and other developers" that the studio are looking to hire for the next game in their RPG-shooter series.
