Former MGS voice actor David Hayter just won the award for most confusing Twitter post of all time, after making a triple-negative tease with regards to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

"I'm not "not allowed" to not tell anyone about anything," he said to one Twitter user who had previously stated: "Is it safe to assume that @DavidBHayter is really Solid Snake but just isn't allowed to tell anyone?"

Later Hayter clarified: "This tweet merely meant that I have no restrictions on commenting on games I'm not in."

Trying to wrap our brain around the first message took some doing, but it looks like this cryptic message was just that, a cryptic message, and not a tease.

That said, given MGS creator Hideo Kojima's fondness for doing the unexpected, who can say for sure. With The Phantom Pain due out sometime this year, we're going to find out sooner or later, that much we do know.
