After a customer petition two Australian game retailers (Target & Kmart) decided to remove Grand Theft Auto V from their shelves. In a presentation today at BMO Capital Markets 2014 Technology & Digital Media Conference, Take-Two Interactive president Karl Slatoff gave his response to the recent events.

Gamesindustry reports that Slatoff is not supporting the idea of banning a creative product like a video game, but says that the best way to go about it is simply not to buy the game.

"If you don't like it and it's offensive to you, then you don't buy it. But for a person or a group of people to try to make that decision for millions of people..."

He goes on to say that the ban has not had any affect on the sales in Australia:

"Our business is going to be completely unaffected by this; it doesn't make a difference to us."

Slatoff wraps it up by saying that there are other outlets where the Australian gamers can purchase Grand Theft Auto V, and he's not worried since these "two retailers are relatively small in the context of Australia".
