Funcom has today revealed an impressive one million gamers have signed up to beta test their MMO, The Secret World.

This Friday (May 11) will see the start of a series of beta weekends. The first is called Kingsmouth Calling, and players will start off as a Templar in London, before heading off to investigate a mysterious event on Solomon Island.

Morten Larssen, Funcom's SVP of Sales & Marketing, said: "Shattering our previous beta records gives us great hope for The Secret World's launch and its future. Combining this positive number with the excellent feedback we have received from both beta testers and the press that have played the game, make us very optimistic for a successful launch of The Secret World."

And finally, Funcom are giving out 100,000 beta keys to gamers. Visit here for more details.
