Ubisoft has revealed the review policy for their incoming MMO racer, The Crew. The publisher confirmed that the game will not be in the hands of reviewers until the game is fully online, so don't expect to see scores appearing until a few days after the game launches.

If you want to make sure that the game is going to deliver the experience you want, then you might want to wait until the critical response is in, or you can jump in on the open beta and see it in its current state, with the trial starting today on Xbox One and PS4 and running until Thursday (November 26).

Ubisoft warns that early reviews after launch will be made using experiences from the beta, and warns that these will not "reflect the finished game". The same goes the other way too, and we've already seen several high profile games struggle server-side this year, most notably Driveclub and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

The MMO racer from Ivory Tower and Ubisoft Reflections will be launching on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, as well as on PC and Xbox 360, on December 2.

"You'll get a lot of fun out of The Crew, unless you come to the table expecting a revolutionary MMO racer."
