Civ: Beyond Earth hitting Mac and Linux this holiday season

This friday the all-new Civilization: Beyond Earth is released on Steam for Windows PC. However, to ease players with on different PC platforms, 2K Games has announced that the other planned versions will follow in a fairly timely fashion, with the release for both Mac and Linux versions of the 4X strategy game being scheduled for this holiday season:
"Beyond Earth makes planetfall Holiday 2014 on Mac and Linux," 2K writes on Twitter".
It's a rather vague statement, but it still proclaims one thing as crystal clear. The Mac and Linux versions will arrive before year's end, unless something unforseen should happen in the meantime.
