If you want to get in the mood before Civilization: Beyond Earth lands, then the remaining days before launch can be spent playing Civilization V. If you don't have it in your digital collection already, you can try it out for free for a couple of days on Steam (you can only play it until October 23, then you'll have to drop some cash to carry on).
If you haven't played it before, now's your chance. However, it's worth noting that the sooner you start the better, as a couple of days is barely enough time scratch the surface of this expansive strategy game.
