343 Industries Frank O'Connor has apologised for the sizeable day-one content download players of Halo: The Master Chief collection will have to go through.

The bulk of the 20GB download "is MP or MP-related," says O'Connor in a forum post, in response to a user querying the size of the patch and why the studio didn't opt for a two deci setup.

"That's not a patch. It's content," he states. " The game is designed to run as a single, unified product, digital is seamless obviously, but we also wanted disc users to have the same experience, without swapping discs.

"We realize that this isn't ideal for everyone, but it's the path to the smoothest eventual experience."

REVIEW. Written by Mike Holmes

"It has aged exceptionally well, a fact that speaks to Bungie's original quality as well as the restorative nip and tuck overseen by 343 Industries."
