World of Warcraft subscriptions on the rise

Next month Blizzard is releasing the next expansion for World of Warcraft. The studio really wants players to return to the MMORPG, so to encourage this at the same time as ushering in the transition to World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor, all previous expansions have been added to all existing World of Warcraft accounts. Therefore everyone who has played or is currently playing the game will automatically get all existing content.

Already available is the pre-launch patch to version 6.0.2, namely The Iron Tide. You can get all information about it on the official website. Blizzard also announced that the number of subscribers has risen to 7.4 million. Last quarter the numbers fell dramatically from 7.6 million to 6.8 million, so it would seem that fans are looking forward to the forthcoming expansion.
