We caught up with Bioware's Aaryn Flynn and discussed the development of the next Dragon Age game, how the studio responds to fan feedback, and shaping the cast of characters that'll appear in Inquisition.
"One of the big goals for Dragon Age: Inquisition is to ensure that the characters in the party, the characters you meet, complement the other characters," Flynn explained. "So you want to make sure, you don't want to have characters that are all the same."
There's some characters in Inquisition that are new to the franchise, and once Flynn had talked about how they go about creating these characters, he explained that the main thing is that they're well-rounded and plausible.
"You have to present balanced characters, characters that some people are going to like, some people are not going to like. You'll interact with them and maybe appreciate some things. But the real power of the characters is to layer them, make sure you can go deep with these things, understand why they're the way they are. That's what the writers work really hard to achieve with the designers."
Dragon Age: Inquisition is set to land on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on November 20.
