It certainly looks like DayZ will be appearing on Xbox One, and not just PlayStation 4, according to the game's creator, Dean "Rocket" Hall.
"DayZ is definitely going to be a multi-platform title - that's the firm vision from Bohemia's standpoint," he explained at EGX. "But we'll announce what all the other platforms are as we get to that point."
As for when the game will make it onto PS4, and in what form (might it end up as an Early Access release on console as well as PC?), this is what he had to say:
"There's been no decision made about when DayZ releases, and that would depend on what options Sony provides. I don't think they've said anything about... Everyone's said they're thinking about it [Early Access releases]."
Later he added: "The during next year thing would depend very much on what do the consoles offer in terms of release strategies," Hall said. "A straight up retail release? It's not going to be next year, because there's just too much work remaining."
So, the details regarding the console version are still very much in the air, and all we really know for certain is that the zombie survival sim is definitely heading to PS4, and it's still a long way off release.
