Destiny's loot cave might have been erased from Bungie's game, but it lives on as an independently created tribute. So, if you're something of a loot farmer, and you miss the joy of shooting into a dark cave and getting rewarded for it, today would seem to be your lucky day.

The Interactive Cave Shooting Simulator can be found here, and it seems to drop plenty of those elusive rare items. Users don't even need to reload their weapons, so you can farm as much as you want! That said, you can't interact with the items in any way, but it's still nice reminder of all those glorious hours spent down the farm in search of better guns and gear!

Of course, the loot system in Destiny has been an annoyance for many, with Legendary Engrams regularly (and disappointingly) decrypting into rubbish loot. With the status quo as is/was, you can't blame people for seeking the path of least resistance.

Bungie has announced that they're changing the way that loot drops this week, so players will have a much better idea of what gear is coming their way when they reach the Cryptarch, leaving this monument to loot farming as some kind of strange memorial to the studio's first attempts at balancing the loot system.

Thanks, Kotaku.
