A lot of us have been playing Destiny since it was released on PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360 earlier this week, with the former Halo creators launching their first new IP following their breakaway from Microsoft after the release of Halo: Reach.
Bungie's David "Deej" Dague has been talking about the transition from Halo to Destiny, and in an interview with USA Today, the community manager revealed that the studio has found the transition "liberating".
"We'll never turn a blind eye to the accomplishments that come with Halo at Bungie," Dague said. "But as creators, as artists, as people with imaginations for how games can be new and different, and exciting, it was pretty liberating, actually, to start with a blank canvas and say, ‘What sort of story do we want to tell now?'"
Bungie are now well into their reported ten year plan for Destiny, and while they push forward with their new IP, their old franchise continues to be developed by new custodians 343 Industries. Halo: The Master Chief Collection is set to launch on Xbox One in November, and Halo 5: Guardians is coming to the same platform next year.
