Have you been having issues connecting to PSN this morning? Well, it would appear as if Sony are having some issue. We've tried to go online with both PS4 and PS Vita to no avail.

A group called LizardSquad claims responsibility and cites the reason for the attack that Sony aren't spending the money they earn on the service to improve it. We have no way of knowing it this is simply a case of a group taking credit for what someone else is doing or if they are indeed responsible. Other attacks that affect Battle.net, Path of Exile and League of Legends are apparently also in on going (via Shacknews).

There is not a ton of official word about the attack as of yet, but Path of Exile developers Grinding Gear Games took to Twitter to confirm they were being targeted:

"We're having some server issues due to a DDOS attack. Should have it sorted out soon. Sorry for the inconvenience!"

Update: Sony Online Entertainment also appears to be under attack, but they also report they have it under control.

Update 2: Sony have acknowledge the issues on Twitter:

"Network update: our engineers are aware of the issues and are working to resolve them. We'll keep you posted - sorry for the inconvenience"
