The planned Dead Rising movie is alive and kicking and according to the movie blog The Wrap it now even has a director, Zach Lipovsky. There's no need to be ashamed if you don't know the name since the only thing he's done previously is the horror themed B-movie Leprechaun: Origins starring WWE wrestler Hornswoggle.
It's worth pointing out that the Dead Rising movie is going to be released direct for DVD/Blu-ray and streaming services. Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing (he was involved in producing Transformers) and Tim Carter (Mortal Kombat: Legacy) did the writing.
